GearScouter

What is GearScouter?

A search across Reverb, eBay, and ShopGoodwill for used musical instrument and recording gear — merged into one feed, with alerts so you stop missing auctions and price drops. Search is free for everyone, watching and alerting on Reverb listings is free with an account, and a $1 lifetime membership adds eBay and ShopGoodwill watching plus account linking to bid.

Free, no account: search

Type one query and GearScouter fans it out across Reverb, eBay, and ShopGoodwill in parallel, merging the results into a single ranked feed with a shared price format. No signup, no payment, no limit on how much you search.

Free account: Reverb watching & alerts

Create a free account to watch specific Reverb listings with a price ceiling, save Reverb searches that run in the background, and get alerted on price drops, new matches, and endings — all free, forever. This mirrors what Reverb already offers its own members for free, so GearScouter doesn't charge for it either.

What the $1 lifetime membership adds

Watch eBay & ShopGoodwill too

The same price-ceiling watchlist and alerts as the free plan, extended to eBay and ShopGoodwill listings — since those don't come with a free watch/alert feature of their own to match.

Saved searches across every source

Free accounts save Reverb-only searches. Paid saved searches can span Reverb, eBay, and ShopGoodwill together in one standing query.

Link eBay to bid

Connect your own eBay account over official OAuth (GearScouter never sees your password) to place bids without leaving the dashboard. Entirely optional — searching and watching never require it. Reverb account linking is coming soon, pending Reverb's own approval process.

How the $1 works

It's a one-time payment, not a subscription — $1, once, processed by Stripe. No recurring charge, ever. It exists to keep the membership tier limited to people who actually intend to use it, not as a meaningful price for what it unlocks.
